Debut SNSD di Korea tuh tanggal 5 Agustus 2007 dengan lagu ITNW(Into The New World), tapi yg bikin dia terkenal kaya skrg bukan karna lagu itu, tapi lagu Gee yg dirilis 5 Januari 2009. Gara" lagu itu SNSD jadi terkenal bgt!! apalagi di Korea nya sendiri. Lagu Gee sempet peringkat 1 di KBS's Music Chart  show Music Bank selama 9 minggu!! Dari dulu MV nya di youtube sampai agustus 2012 ini nyampe 83jt viewers, MV K-pop dengan viewers tertinggi di Youtube sebelum disalip sama lagunya SPY yang berjudul "Gangnam Style" yg udah nyampe 85jt viewers bulan agustus 2012 ini jg.
